Community Support Grows for Reopening Goodman Park in Lake Como

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! The Goodman Park Community Survey has garnered over 100 responses, demonstrating the community's strong dedication to the future of Goodman Park!

Thank you to everyone who has participated and shown their support!

Community Engagement Highlights

• 73.5% of respondents are residents of Lake Como.

• 76.1% of respondents are in favor of reopening Goodman Park.

These numbers clearly show the community’s enthusiasm for bringing Goodman Park back to life.

Addressing Concerns

Despite the widespread support, the survey also revealed three primary concerns among residents:

1. Safety

2. Cleanliness

3. Increased Vehicular Traffic

We take these concerns seriously and have already begun researching solutions. We’ve created an infographic to show how we can work together to address these issues.

Introducing On My Block: A Neighborhood Block Steward Program

We are also excited to announce the launch of On My Block: A Neighborhood Block Steward Program. This initiative aims to foster a stronger sense of community and improve communication among residents. Block Buddies will:

• Share public safety updates

• Announce local events

• Provide information on city services

• Conduct sidewalk surveys

• Organize volunteer opportunities

This voluntary program is designed to make our large neighborhood feel more connected by encouraging interaction among residents.
