On My Block (OMB)

OMB is KLCB’s resident-led action program focused on eliminating crime, litter, illegal dumping, and bulk waste while strengthening neighborhood connections. This initiative empowers neighbors to take ownership of their blocks through structured participation in community-driven solutions.

Lake Como Gardening Network (LCGN)

The Lake Como Gardening Network (LCGN) is a grassroots initiative that encourages sustainable gardening and food security through backyard container gardening and raised beds. LCGN prioritizes engagement with residents, seniors, and community organizations to promote self-sufficiency, environmental stewardship, and neighborhood beautification.

Goodman Park Revival

KLCB is leading efforts to revitalize Goodman Park, which had the equipment removed in the early 1990s. The revival aims to transform the space into a vibrant community asset with green spaces, recreational areas, and educational components. Through advocacy, partnerships, and resident-driven beautification efforts, KLCB seeks to reclaim the park for public use and foster community pride.

The Resolve Project

The Resolve Project is a community-based approach to conflict resolution and neighborhood accountability. It provides residents with tools to address disputes, improve communication, and foster collaboration. By emphasizing de-escalation, mediation, and problem-solving, this initiative helps strengthen relationships and promote a culture of unity and respect within Lake Como.

Resident Leadership Programs

KLCB empowers residents to take active roles in shaping their community through leadership training, civic engagement, and advocacy. These programs cultivate neighborhood ambassadors who champion local improvements, bridge gaps between residents and city officials, and lead initiatives that align with KLCB’s mission of creating a safer, more connected community

Lake Como Connections serves as KLCB’s official blog, highlighting community stories, advocacy efforts, and progress updates on neighborhood initiatives. This platform fosters dialogue, informs residents, and provides transparency on KLCB’s work, reinforcing the importance of collective action.

KLCB’s The Pride Newsletter, keeps residents and stakeholders informed about ongoing projects, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved. By celebrating community achievements and amplifying resident voices, the newsletter fosters engagement and strengthens neighborhood solidarity.
